Volunteer Princess Cruises was founded in 2006 by the LeMasurier family in Knoxville, TN. It all began in 2005 when the LeMasurier family of Knoxville, TN decided that Knoxville was missing something downtown. Having owned a houseboat on Norris Lake for the previous 10 years, the family envisioned providing Knoxville with the most luxurious, state-of-the-art dining yacht available. After several months of research, the LeMasurier's decided that Knoxville would be the future home to a 96' luxury yacht. Thats when SkipperLiner Industries of La Crosse, WI began construction of the Volunteer Princess.
After six months construction, the Volunteer Princess was ready to set its course for Knoxville, TN. To get here, the Princess had to head down the Mississippi, then onto the Ohio River, and finally across the Tennessee River all the way to Knoxville. After two weeks, the yacht reached its new port at Volunteer Landing Marina on May 1, 2006.
