M/V Volunteer Princess Goes to Drydock
The Volunteer Princess will be away from its dock starting Sunday, January 9th. Every five years, all commercial vessels must be pulled out of the water to have the hull inspected by the US Coast Guard. This will be the longest cruise the yacht has taken since it was delivered in May 2006. We are lucky to have a facility that can accommodate us near by, as we will be heading to Harbortowne Marina in Vonore, TN. Harbortowne is about 60 nautical miles away or 69 regular miles.
On Monday, January 10th, the hull will be cleaned and prepared for the inspection. On Tuesday, January 11th, the Coast Guard will arrive for their inspection and if all goes well, we will be ready to head back to Knoxville on Wednesday.
I will provide updates to the status of everything starting Sunday. Enjoy!
